Subjects Taught
English 10, English 10 Honors, English 9, English 9 Honors, RTI2 ELA

This is my seventh year at Huntland, and I am settled in as a Hornet! I have
also taught at Coffee County High School and LaVergne High School. I teach
ninth and tenth grade English, standard and honors, and ELA RTI. I am a
Curriculum Instructional Coach and 9-12 RTI Coordinator. I am also a junior
class sponsor and prom sponsor. I help coordinate the pep rally games and
Homecoming week activities. I also work closely with FFA for our annual
Thanksgiving canned food drive so no one is hungry on my favorite holiday!

So, for those of you that may not know me, let me tell you a little about
myself. I live in Shelbyville with my husband, Sambo, a Huntland native.
We have two grown children, Brandon and Brieanna. Brie and her husband
live in Unionville and have a 2 daughters.
Daisy, 6, & Dani Jane, 4 yrs old. Both girls are bundles of energy and
have me wrapped around their cute little fingers!!
Sambo and I own a farm in Lexie Crossroads that has been in his family for years. We love to work at the farm and care for
our walking horse, Roscoe.
We also enjoy deer hunting, canoeing, four wheeling, and being
with our friends and family. My favorite hobby is fishing with my
daddy on our pontoon boat that we keep docked at the marina.
We rarely catch fish, but we love being on
the lake and spending time together. I am a huge UT fan, and I love college football! As for teaching, I hope to excite my students through reading and
active discussions.
I relate my subject to real life so the students can see
how important strong skills in English and language arts are
for their future. I absolutely love my job, and I am passionate
about inspiring my students to reach their fullest potential.
I feel it is also important for my students to understand the needs
in the community and their ability to help others.
We will participate in several community service projects throughout
the year and I look forward to working with my students
and their families toward building creativity, compassion & character
while helping those in need in our county.
Teens are awesome and we will showcase their talents and
giving hearts this year! I am looking forward to a great year and hope my students enjoy their time in my classroom!
