I received a Bachelors of Science in Communication Disorders from Middle Tennessee State University in 1993

I received a Masters of Education in Speech and Language Pathology from Tennessee State University in 1995

I have also received 12 hours in post graduate work from Smith College in the area of working with students with cochlear implants and listening and spoken language.

I am liscened in the state of Tennessee as a Speech/Language Pathologist and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency with the American Speech Language Hearing Association

I started my career as a speech pathologist with Elk Valley Home Health in Columbia, TN where I treated patients in their homes for a variety of speech/language/communication and swallowing disorders. I then continued my career at Patrick Rehab and Wellness Center in Fayetteville where I provided rehabilitation services to patients ranging from birth to the geriatric population with developmental and acquired disorders. In 2009 I transitioned from a role in the health care field to my current position with Franklin County Schools. Helping students to reach their full academic potential through building their skills in speech sound production, receptive and expressive language and social skills has been one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences I have had in my 22 year professional career.

I have been a speech language pathologist for 17 years and am greatly
enjoying being in the academic setting. My background is in working with
infants through adults with a variety of disorders such as Speech and
Language Disorders, Autism, and Feeding Disorders.
