My name is Karen Smith-Michael.  This will be my 28th year teaching in the Franklin County School System. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree, a Master's in Administration and Supervision, and an Educational Specialist's in Administration and Supervision all from MTSU.  I have taught 3rd through 8th grades in my career.  I have a passion for the Social Studies though.  This year I have moved to the Middle School and l look forward to working with these students.

I have two daughters.  Kylea is now a Senior at The University of the South (Sewanee) majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology. She is also a cheerleader and a Student Government Senator.  Jamie is a Sophomore at UTC majoring in Nursing.  She is a member of the Delta Zeta sorority where they have elected her Secretary of her sorority.    We have one dog named Dixie.  In our spare time, we love to travel and see new places.
